Parish Ministry
Music that serves worship, not performance
Supporting worship through hymns, liturgy and congregational singing.
Choir ministry supports Holy Qurbana and other services by helping the whole congregation sing, pray and participate more fully in the worship of God.
The congregation as the largest choir
The wider Mar Thoma music ministry describes the congregation as the largest choir in the Church. Parish choir ministry exists to help that congregation sing, pray and participate with confidence in the worship of God.
That understanding keeps music in the right place. The aim is not display, but prayerful leadership that strengthens common worship and supports the liturgy with clarity and reverence.
Serving multilingual worship in Cardiff
At Immanuel MTC, choir members support Holy Qurbana and other services through hymns, chants and responses that carry the liturgy with clarity and reverence. Music in worship is not treated as performance, but as part of prayer, praise and shared devotion.
The choir also serves a practical role in parish life by helping worship remain accessible across generations and languages. In Cardiff, that includes supporting both English and Malayalam worship and encouraging the whole congregation to sing together.
