Mar Thoma Identity
Light received, light shared
"Lighted to Lighten" remains a concise summary of Christian vocation: receive the light of Christ, then bear that light into the world through worship, witness and holy living.
The Mar Thoma Church's logo and motto express a calling centred on Christ. The cross remains central, and every part of the emblem points back to discipleship, witness and holy living.
Lighted to Lighten
The motto expresses the responsibility of every believer to receive light from Christ and reflect that light to others. It is a call to visible Christian life rather than private faith alone.
For Immanuel MTC, the phrase helps frame worship, ministry and service. The Church is gathered to be renewed in Christ and then sent out to live faithfully in home, work, study and community life.
The meaning of the logo
The cross at the centre affirms the centrality of Jesus Christ in the faith and mission of the Church. Around it, the emblem reflects the Indian roots of the Church and the call to holy living, witness and disciplined discipleship.
The hand lamp signifies the believer's calling to bear light. The lotus points to holy living. Together they present a church that is both rooted in its heritage and active in its witness.
